New Menu Features More Mediterranean Dishes at Pinnacle Restaurant

Eating great food and improving one’s health is the goal of the new Summer Menu at the Pinnacle Restaurant at Falkner Winery. Having been voted “Best Restaurant” for 2007-2013 by readers of Inland Empire Magazine, the Pinnacle Restaurant at Falkner Winery continues to impress and improve. On May 3rd the Pinnacle will launch many new menu items that are consistent with the Mediterranean diet that has proven to be 33-46% more effective than a low-fat diet in reducing the risk of stroke or heart attack. Mediterranean cooking involves the use of more olive oils, fruits, nuts, seafood, and red wine. Menu items consistent with the diet are highlighted on the menu. Executive Chef Gianni Ciciliot (voted “Best Chef” for three years by readers of Inland Empire magazine) and his staff introduce numerous delicious and unique new items to the menu while retaining many of the guest favorites.

The new menu includes some new and revamped appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pastas, entrées, and desserts. Staying with their Mediterranean/American food theme, Chef Gianni is introducing a Carlsbad Black Mussel appetizer and a revamped Mediterranean Shrimp Salad. His new Winemaker’s Pasta made with sun-dried tomatoes, shallots, garlic, basil, parsley, and tomatoes comes with chicken although shrimp, scallops, or salmon may be substituted. New entrées include Grilled Spanish Octopus that is marinated, grilled, and served tender with Beluga lentils drizzled with smoked paprika oil and organic lemon; Madeira Salmon uses fresh Steelhead Salmon encrusted in herbs and served with orzo pasta and grilled broccolini topped with Madeira wine and bell pepper sauce; Branzino, the wonderful Mediterranean Striped Sea Bass, is served whole and boneless with different preparations daily; Fresh and difficult to find Diver Scallops are large, tender, and tasty served with a sun-dried tomato and asparagus risotto; and a Charbroiled Lamb Rack using grass-fed New Zealand Lamb marinated in Spanish onions, garlic, fresh rosemary, and organic lemon all served with Beluga lentils and grilled Broccolini. Staying with the Mediterranean theme, two additional side orders will be available: Italian Bean Salad using Cannellini and Borlotti beans and a Farro Dolce made with whole grain Farro sautéed with shallots, garlic, sun-dried cherries, golden raisins and toasted sliced natural almonds. Finish your meal with the new dessert of Triple Berry Port and Gelato made with blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries marinated in Falkner Port served over Pistachio Gelato. In addition to these great new entrées the Pinnacle has also added a Gluten Free and Vegan menu with several exciting items only on those menus.

The Pinnacle has an extensive list of Falkner wines to accompany all your dishes with specific wine recommendations for each item. Also, the Pinnacle continues to offer a “weekend special” with a different entrée each month and special preparations each week available Friday through Sunday. From their beautiful hill-top location, diners at the Pinnacle can relax in either in-door air conditioned comfort or outside balcony dining while enjoying the spectacular views of Temecula Wine Country.
